I have an '07 50 HP Yamaha on a pontoon. Great motor-never any trouble and great fuel mileage. I see that the 60 HP version of this engine is identical in bore/stroke/compression ratio/weight and so on. Is the extra 10 gained by a computer mod or something more complicated? I live at 5000' and the motor easily hits 5200 rpm. With a pontoon, you don't expect "hole-shots", but I'm thinking that the extra power will enable me to increase pitch for a little better top end. "Top end" is all relative. Right now it's 13 mph!
