Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone could help me with working out the ignition wiring in the remote of the 50473m - evinrude 50hp lark.

I was going to replace ignition but not sure it's compatible with the one I bought. If anyone could help with the colored wires to the terminals that would be amazing thanks.

Thanks for that. I have looked through that but I'm not seeing any diagram that matches my power pilot remote.

On my ignition I have:

B M
M
S
A
Wires:
Black/yellow
Red
2 Black wires
2 Purple wires
White

Any ideas? Thanks!20210228_171121.jpg

can't vouch it is 100% if you had more wires it would be a problem :)

trace back the wires to find out where they go and do

Oh yes good idea I will try that. Although I'm not sure what everything is in the engine yet. Also having trouble finding where fuses would be.

There is a 20 amp fuse ( 5/8" long ) in a wee black rubber plug in.----Find it near the starter solenoid.------Note , this engine does not need 12 volts from the battery to make spark.

The new switch you pictured is for a push-to-choke system, accounting for the extra terminals. Your motor did not have push-to-choke, but a toggle switch instead. Not only that, but there was a choke modification service bulletin on it. That is not to say you can't use it, just need to know how it works.

Thank you that is so helpful.

I'm pretty terrified I put wrong wire onto ignition and blow something

Can't trace the wires back as the wires change once they come out the remote terminal in the engine.

Well I'm still a little lost and can't figure out which wire goes where on the ignition.

Some of the wires were screwed into the same letter on the ignition so it's really confusing to try install this new one.
