50eltk 1986 yam will not idle anyone have carbs or ideals?

boat sat in ohio for 8 years in dry dock at a boat shop. guy i got it from pulled it home fresh gas new battery fired up and he used it for one season then let it set from 2004 till last month i bought it it would not start i pulled carbs and they had white powder in them alot of it! i installed them it runs only at high rpm's and will not idle i took it to a local boat shop they cleaned carbs twice changed reeds and it still will not idle only realy fast idle like 3000 rpm's they told me the carbs are gummed up internal? any one have a set of carbs or any idels? thanks for any and all help. mike mikesbikes@bpsnetworks.com

I had the same issue with my 1986 Yamaha, I had the carbs totally rebuilt and works like a champ, except i am now to the point where it hesitates until i get to full throttle

i rebuilt them then the boat shop rebuilt them it did not work they said it looked like salt water inside them?
