5200 in 40 degrees?

I am going to mount an outboard on my 19 ft cc this weekend. I need to apply alittle 5200 to a gelcoat crack on the transom first. The tube says 40 deg F min. It is calling for 49/44 Friday and Sat.

Thats daytime highs.....think its ok? I wont actually use the boat till next spring but want the 5200 on B4 mounting the engine.

the area needs to stay above 40 * it takes quite awhile to cure, i think 7 -10 days for 5200 to fully cure. tent it and put a heater in there, or heat garage. or wait for warmer weather.

Or an infrared light bulb focused on the area......like you get under when your body hurts. Just monitor it at first to insure that you didn't put it too close.

Not familiar with 5200, but most things of the sort liquify when heated so you may be in for some runs if you don't take measures to prevent them.

Make darn sure it's just a gelcoat crack. After all it is on the transom.

The light is a good idea. Just keep it warm for a few days.They do have the 5200 in a fast cure formula....still will need to stay warm.
