Is there a normal vent in these carbs? I prime the 2-line system at the tank, and fuel immediately gushes out the brass nozzle tube into the carb. If I blow through the fuel line into carb inverted, no flow. Good. Upright, air through, but not if high speed jet is seated. Is this right? Wouldn't the carb have to have a way to vent air over incoming fuel? Feels like I'm just squirting it directly up that tube through the high speed jet port. and all gaskets are installed correctly (boss gasket too). I see a hole in the topside, above float, and I'm soaking it now..

Found it. Port connects behind the choke mechanism on the side. All clean now. Never saw that one before..

You are smarter than the average bear. A plugged vent blows most people's mind. The trapped air over the fuel level prevents the fuel from rising and the float doesn't come up to shut it off. So it runs out the main nozzle.
