The wrist pins were tight coming out of the old piston (had to press them out, starting at the loose side) and are tight going back into the new pistons.
I heated the pistons in an oven to 450 and froze the pins overnight in the freezer. I introduced the pins & gently tapped them to encourage the insemination with no luck. I don’t want to deform the piston by applying too much force. I was hoping the pins would drop in easy. I then tried a butane torch on the piston – no good. The amount of force needed to press them back in seems excessive. With my luck, I'll have a damaged piston. I'm not happy to ream the piston pin holes.
The pistons are new OEM but are not labeled "loose" on one side like the old ones are.
There must be a trick to this. Thanks for any help.
