We had all the beer we could drink and it still wouldnt start.

Changed the plugs, fogged it with stabil. I did this before trying to start it. Sprayed inside the plug holes before too. And it just backfired a little and then wouldnt get spark or even try to chug. The electric start wasnt working either, it just was clicking at the wire box, not at the starter. But i couldnt get it with the pull start either.

Would putting stabil fogger in it before i had it running hurt it or cause it not to get spark?
How do i check whats bad in the wire box? Obviously the starter wire, correct?
Thanks for the advice

Why were you 'fogging" it with stabil before you tried starting it. Stabil is to be added to the fuel tank prior to storage. Are the plugs dry or wet? Is the battery discharged and too weak to crank the engine. This motor uses a magneto ignition so it doesn't need the battery to run. Do you have any spark? You say it backfired. Thru the carbs or thru the exhaust? In the end there are 3 things an engine needs to run, fuel, spark, and compression. Delete any of these and it will not run

Krull, Clean and gap the points to .020. Spin the distributor and see if you get spark. If you get spark, retime the distriputor and stick the gearcase into a barrel of water. Squirt some 24::1 mixed fuel down the carb throats and hold the choke closed. Now have someone give the starter cord a pull. She should fire up, if you have 90+ PSI compression in each cylinder.
