6.2 MPI- Only starts w/ throttle

I have a 2002 Rinker w/6.2 MPI and Bravo 3. My problem is the engine will only start if you give it gas. You crank it and get it running (having to rev ) and then after a 20 seconds or so it will idle in neutral. THe motor runs fine, has new plugs but I have this starting problem. Doesn't matter if the engine is cold or hot. Sometimes it will start right back up if you try it just after you shut it down, but if it sits, even for 10 minutes, you have to use throttle to get it cranked, where I should just be able to bump the key with a MPI motor. Any help greatly appreciated

You say it has new plugs.... how about the rest of the tune up items such as wires and filters?

The other thing to think about is this... when you open the throttle your letting air into the engine. This is supposed to happen automatically via the IAC valve/circuit in the throttle body. You may have a dirty iac valve causing it to stick. There is also a piece of foam in the iac circuit that acts as a muffler, it may have become dislodged and is clogging the circuit.

Hope that helps.

Yes it had a full 100 hour service. I thought about the IAC, but it idles fine once you get it running.

Still doesn't mean it's working correctly as a whole circuit.
