6 HP Evinrude serial 00051087

It seems to be running on one cylinder only? It runs fast but not slow. Do you think it is coil or perhaps power pack. How can I ckeck coil? Thank you

Post in the motor section for better responses. But first confirm it is running on one cylinder by pulling plug wires. The most like cause of running fast but not slow is the fuel pump diaphram.

Agree, move this to the Evinrude forum and you will get better answers faster but, check compession and spark, you will need a compression tester and a spark checker, both available at an auto parts store, the psark needs to jump a 7/16'' gap to be good and compression should be somewhere around a 100 and within 10% on both cylinders.

If you have spark and compression then move onto the next thing but don't just geuss and start throwing parts at it.

Also a factory manual is highly reccomended, NOT Seloc, Clymers or anything on CD.
