hi welcome OM ...... could be a few diff things ....spun the hub in the prop?......are the carbs gettin the proper amunt of fuel? is ur sync and linc set up properly ? are u gettin spark ? hows ur compression ? ...

1st things first. what 60hp model #. have you check spark, compression, when was the last time it was run, has it been sitting a while, what boat is it on. it could be any of the things dreamchaser said, but lets narrow it down. do you have a manual?

60hp evinrude model E60ELCTB Serial JO255467. What year is this motor? No i dont have a manual just yet. I hadnt run it for 1 month and then when i started up after 10 minutes it started feeling really heavy.

the motor has not been run in 1 month, 1st start with the easy first, check compression, then spark with a spark tester $10.00 auto parts store, compression should be above 100psi, and within 10% of each other, spark should jump 1/2 inch. if you have both did the motor run hot? did you have the pee stream, it could have gone into "slow" mode from running hot. you are our eyes and ears. the more you tell us the better the answers. is this motor new to you or have you had it a long time, and this is the first trouble? waiting for answers. also what kind of boat is it on.

Look under the flywheel and make sure the timing is advancing.Its a plate that is hooked by a linkage arm,on the top is a bent rod with ball and sockets.Too often the plastic ball and sockets break,this allows only fuel,not timing. classic here in hot Fl.

is a 15' 1972 bonito. the person i got it from rebuilt the motor. I know the starter is going bad but other than that everything was working fine. How do i check compression?
