63 speedifour leaking something

I am workin on my speedifour. And recently noticed a milky whitish colored oily substance coming out of the bottom of the motor somewhere . It smells kinda like fuel and its leaking somewhere front bottom of the motor . Any ideas?

Almost sounds like unburn't fuel mixture leaking out of the lower unit drain hole.

What would cause this and is it bad also can it be fixed?

Ho-hum, another leaking stuff out the drain holes question. Does the motor run properly? Have you been running it in a barrel or something? Even in good tune, that motor will weep unburned fuel out the drain holes. Way more than just weeping if not running correctly or on a boat on the lake. That's just the way it is.

Especially on that motor. The EPA wasn't around when that motor was built.

OK guys thanks. When just starting the motor for 5 seconds I noticed afterwords that its leaking pretty heavily. But then stops. I had the boat on the water sat and it ran like a top only thing I noticed was a big cloud of oil looking water around the boat for a minute. Just wanted to make sure I was safe lol.

As long as it's running okay it's normal for that motor.

When you answer specific questions you may get somewhere.-------Does the primer bulb on the hose go hard when you start the motor ?

As already said, if it is running properly, no the float isn't stuck. And also as already said, they were sloppy motors as far as discharges are concerned. They actually drained fuel and oil overboard on purpose. And yes, smoky. But reckon today's motors will still be around 50 years from now? At my age, I certainly won't be.

OK Ron thanks for the response just a little paranoid that is all. And as old as it is no one around me knows how to work on it so as the saying goes. Better safe than sorry. So I like to ask all I can

Sorry took so long to respond site was down and i got busy. The bulb has pressure but not rock solid and not soft either
