68-69 Evinrude 55 hp carb help

Recently bought an old boat and motor, I need to know what the air/fuel mixture should be set at and how to properly adjust the idle?<br />Thanks for any help

Use a 50:1 fuel mix, Nimpo Lake.<br /><br />You need a Service Manual if you plan on working on your engine.<br /><br />Adjusting the idle is part of the linkage and synchronization procedure that needs to be done by the book.<br /><br />Good luck.

I have no serial # to go off of to know the exact model, it has to be 1 of 4. I dont want to buy the wrong manual, do you think they would be similar enough that the manual for the wrong model would be close enough for initial setup, they are within two years? I got it running last night but the idle is defanitely off and I would put money on the fact that the guy I bought it off of mucked around with the air fuel mixture. Thanks for any advise
