Can these ALu props be repaired ?

Yes, however when you compare the price of the repair with that of a brand new Solas Amita prop aluminum prop from iboats you may feel it isn't worth the bother.

I bought a 19 ft Glasply ( big warer boat ) several years ago it was filthy Power washed and cleaned up to a nice looking boat and trailer, very solid. Then tackeled the motor. I bought this from a dealer that did not want to spend mech. time on a trade in. Paid $ i000 for it Overheated and so he parked it. I pulled the heads and the water jacket covers and the thermostat Cleaned all out and blew air wherever it would go. Had the heads resurfaced on a flat wheel and reassembled with a new thermostst. I ran the boat for two years and never had a problem. Sold it to the sales manager at Lighthouse Dressing Mfg in Sandpoint Idaho for $6500 and it still runs to this day. Those old Evenrude motors never give up if kept up. Boat of yours looks great. I now have 2 Starcrafts as old age forced me to leave the heavy ones at tke dock.

Well i have not posted on here for awhile to busy with work dunes and boating :D

Time to fix the leaking get rid of old foam

Click on the photo above to see more :D

I was really surprised that the 44 year old plywood flooring is still in very good condition, I will be taking accurate measurements and draw some plans and post for all to use if they want to keep the floor original.

Both stringers would normally have 2 rivets in each rib over 40 per side...
not mine the port was head down by 4 and the starboard side had 3 holding it down. No wonder the floor creaked...
I got the orig vinyl floor covering off in one piece I plan to reuse it, to keep the boat "ORIG"

Scott

Once i got the floor up i was surprised how well the white styrene was pretty much intact. I still wanted to get new blue or pink stuff.
The inside hull had a bit of oil/grease/dirt and a bunch of white "styrene" balls. After hitting it with the vac to get most of the crap out. Then simple green with a small brush, filled the boat with water repeated this 3 times. Before i drained it for the last time I blew compressed air into the whole in the center spline to see where it was leaking. If you look close to some of the photos you can see red marker. 3 leaking rivets. left it to dry for about 3 weeks. Applied the "Gluevit" yesterday :D

I'm going to let it cure for about 2 weeks then fill with water to see if I missed anything

@TheWrks - where did you get that cover? I have tried several off-the-shelf covers and have not yet found one that will fit the tall windshield of the old Holiday. I have a '69 18ft I/O. Did you purchase your cover or have it made for the boat? Anyone else got any cover ideas?

Hey Daddoo, I was a custom fit by the boat shop i use It's sunbrella material with vinyl reinforcements all the way around the snaps and over the window and other area's that my rub. I had 2 poles with snaps added to the design. it was not cheap but it's what i wanted.

Where are you located?

Re: '68 Holiday-V 120 Mercruiser I/O

My work has been crazy I don't have much time during the winter do do stuff on the boat, I do what I can with 1-2 days off a week.

So I sealed the inside of the hull with Gluevit, let it cure for 2 weeks. Dropped the bow down more than before and filled it up with more water than before. The rivets around the lower bow leak  So I decided to strip the exterior paint off  Picked up a air hammer and bit to bunk them tight...

My Mechanic is going to loan my 2 boat stands next month so i can get the trailer painted. Gluevit all rivets then start the repainting process.

Till the next time :D
