as per Leroy'S there is a small plastic gizmo plug #0312909 inside the LS circuit under the round plug

did you or not... inspect all areas under the round plugs... change the plastic insert etc....

see part 1-2 on cleaning these carbs.

from LEROY'S.....
there is no aftermarket carburetor kit available for these motors. The BRP part # is 0382048, which includes the float. Available for $30.96 as of 5-2013. I am disappointed in this kit. It comes with, (like most) repair parts for both the early and late carbs but does not come with everything. On this carburetor, there is a 1/2" core plug on the outer part of the carb that is inline with 3 small holes in the carb throat. These holes had to be drilled through the access hole this core plug covers up. However INSIDE and under the core plug is a plastic filler plug #0312909 that is not included. On the one I repaired, it would be impossible to remove this plastic plug without destroying it. Oh yes, this kit also included a old style fuel pump cover gasket and filter screen.

Well----When you turn the low speed needle it has to change the way it runs.----So there is an issue.

if electricals are OK, timing & compression is ok, throttle/carb synchronized ..

carb is dirty....did you use high pressure air blasts

one option...change the tilt angle on the motor... one fellow I sold a 9.5 was having problems and noticed that running the engine ata diffferent tilt angle help a lot...

Those 3 little holes on the carb body must be open. With air and carb cleaner you can see if they are flowing if you study how to do it.

Didn't use high pressure air, lots of carb cleaner in every orifice tho, never tried to tilt angle, the plastic core plug on the side, best way to remove it,and also does it really need to be replaced or can you just plug it with something else, and out the aluminum cap back in the outside?

plastic plug... I would rebuild the carb as per design intent.

pass as small 2lb mono in all orifices (channels within the carb)

btw change the float if you have doubts or a spare one.... check for any missing lead plug in the carb body

not much else you ca do.

Ok was just trying to avoid buying anything extra that I don't have already, have a new plastic float from the carb kit I purchased, the only thing I didn't do was try cleaning the small holes on the throat because there not very accessible, figured I could plug the hole where the plastic core is with something that fits
