please i need to find parts to tune up my motor i have never work on a outboards but i want to give it a shot to fix mine. it keeps flooding out. i have check compression on both i have about 73 psi on each cylinder, i have fire (my arms felt both). plugs look a little grime but will spark. it looks as if someone just tune up the motor before i got it, it ran on the lake for about 5 min at a time, then bog down and shut off. i would drain the bowl wait and fire it again. i did that about twice and just fished after that. also my slow needle needs to be adj. i notice that it would spin as i would drive. well any advice would be nice or how to rebuild the carb. sorry for /\ this im a noob.

there is one option for parts. and your local omc/brp dealer probably has the carb kit in stock. post back when you have the kit, and we can help you through the process.....its quite simple, so no worries!!

Don't forget, iboats has a lot of stuff for that motor too. Including a carburetor kit

i have a quick question. Do i need a lower unit seal kit to change the impeller?

Hi!
Nope. Unless you have a problem with water leaking in to the lower unit making the oil greyish/ milky.

Little more help I have the points kit.what is the oil or lube in the kit for and how hard is it to set the timing or do I need to

And yet another one. i need to replace my pinion gear. i have tried to searh on here for it am i missing something? Is it called something else that i dont know about? please keep throwing your knowelge my way. thank you again

Why do you need to replace your pinion gear? We already established that you don't have to open up the lower unit so what makes you think it needs replacing?

The pinion gear on my pull start. Everything i have seen said that its call a pinion gear, the part that slides up to connects to the flywheel. It works but a peice of it is broke off thought i would replace it be for it gets me trobule

Hey guys I need a little more help. I replaced points, condenser, and coils but I lost my mark for my fly wheel how do I set the timing with the fly wheel y o the rest any insite would be great.

the keyway in the crankshaft is the high spot on the points cam. set the points to 0.020 with the rubbing block aligned with the key. make sure to clean the points as even a bit of oil from your fingers will reduce or cause no spark.

Thanks. Now for my next trick im replacing my lower unit seals. Do I have to take off the lower fin(where uou drain the oil) to replace the seal behind the perpaler
