Hi can I use a 7.5 hp carb on a 6hp engine useing the 6hp jets ???? its a 1983 6 hp johnson 7.5hp carb is the same shape and size

carb base in 7.5 has bigger hole

Try it but you may have to re-jet.

I was going to take everything from the 6hp and fit to the 7.5 includeing the new carb kit I have on the way

sorry I should of said the carb kit is for a 6HP
