Hey All!
I recently got an 70-80s era 7.5 Mercury Boat Motor. I cleaned the carbs, spark plugs, and ran compression and the motor started and ran really well. The only persisting issue I have had with it is that it wont run at full rpms without choke. What I means is at a certain point when increasing throttle, the choke must be engaged to allow the motor to advance in rpm. If the choke isn't engaged the motor will stall. The carburetor is missing the venturi tube but I didn't think that would affect its performance at high rpms (let me know if I'm wrong about that). More so I pumped the fuel primer as it increased in throttle and that did not help. The fuel lines look good, and I am getting a new gasket. Let me know if there is anything I am missing Thanks!
