I am trying to get an 1980/81 mercury 7.5 going. I have good compression and spark. I cleanded out the carb and put new diaphrams and gaskets in it. I can pump fuel into the carb with the bulb. The vaccum for the fuel pump seems to be working. It does not look like it is drawing the fuel up into the bore of the carb. The main nozel and idle tube are clean. Idle screw is out 3/4 - 1 turn. There is a vaccum line that goes fron the back of the carb to the bottom of the block it is called the CHECK VALVE, BLEED in the parts catalog. Should I feel any preasure or suction from this when I pull the cord? I do not feel anything. Should I be able to blow air into it?
