Starving for fuel, runs with it only pumping the bulb. Looks like I need a new fuel pump, the pumps cost about (est $350) part 5007420. Do they make kits for this fuel pump? And where can I find one?
I believe you could try Iboat, if you want one. Click on the Evinrude Parts link at the upper portion of this page. Check in the frequently asked section of the forum and you should be able to find a long post with pictures which describes rebuilding the pump. It is simple, just be careful and work over a clean cloth to catch any springs or valves which drop out. Check your hose to the tank and make sure there are no cracks or loose joints. Have fun, it is an easy fix.
seeing you have opened another thread on the same subject, you can use a 3 line fuel pump. and just make a bracket to mount it on. use the pulse line from the vro pump.

luzzman, I just went through the same thing with a 2000 60HP Johnson motor (we have the same fuel pump). A local boat store told me there are 2 kits needed to rebuild the original pump (about $100). Since I mix my own gas/oil, I was not using the VRO part of the pump. I went with a new non-VRO pump (~$90) and modified the mounting plate to hold it.
