I'm working on my 70 HP evinrude, replacing some of the head bolts, exhaust and head gasket. I was able to get the gaskets I needed at a local dealer, but they wanted 10 bucks for the head bolts. Three questions:
-The bolts popped (three of them) because it over heated. Should I replace all of the bolts?
-What's the part number for the bolts
-What's a good source?
There is no other appreciable damage that I could find. The cylinders and pistons are fine, I've got the water pump kit to replace that, and the boat ran OK after it happened but you could tell I was getting a little water in the cylinders. The head gasket shows deterioration around a couple of the seals, and I haven't checked the head for warpage yet.
Thanks in advance for any help, I've been searching the net for part numbers and sources, but haven't had much luck yet
