Ok first sorry about my last post my computer kept getting a error msg, and did weird things to my post. So I have a 1995 70 hp that I have some strange things going on with, I am making this a tiller operated jet motor. and my problem is at first I had no spark, So I cut the black/yellow wire still no spark. Went to bed woke up hit the starter and had spark on bottom and middle cylinder? no spark on top cylinder swapped good lower coil to top cylinder still no spark? went to lunch came back hit starter no spark on any cylinder. tapped lightly on pwr pak with wrench got spark on top & bottom cylinder no spark on middle cylinder now. So when it comes to the electric side of things that is my weak area, I am trying to learn could you guys please help me out. I purchased a CDI multi meter with the DVA adapter and I also have a good working stevens exprmtl ST-75 coil tester. And the OEM manual for this motor. What I dont have is knowledge on how to test the components the correct way. I don't understand the written instructions it says test between brown/yellow to brown wire (how) do i skin the wires? it says I should have 150 volts minimum is that AC or DC that I set the meter to? I want to learn the right way to test all the parts of my outboards so I am not replacing otherwise good parts. I know the knowledge is here pls help me learn. Thanks so much
