Hi Fellas

I recently purchased a boat with the above motor, the motor never misses a beat while running but when i accelerate it takes awhile for revs to go up and then the revs are to high so i have to lower revs again, someone told me it will probably be the timing is this correct? if so is doing timing something i can do myself or do i need an o/b mechanic to do this for me.Any info or ideas will be very much appreciated. This problem occurs even when the motor is running of the hose.

Regards

Eddy

Re: 70hp Evinrude

HI, You didn't mention what year the motor was. Some years had service bulletins on adjustment modifications. Yours sounds like an adjustment problem. If you can get a factory manual, there's a synch and link proceedure to adjust the carburetors, linkages, and timing. That may help your problem.
