Hi, I'm wiring up a tachometer and a new trim gauge on my 70hp Evinrude (E70TLC0). Anyone know where the tach sense wire is/what color, does it go into the 3-pin plug? Also if anyone knows what color wire is the trim sender wire. I don't have a manual for it yet, but I'm trying to connect the gauges tomorrow so any help will be appreciated.

I think I found the answer for the trim gauge. I believe its a white/brown wire, but I can't figure out what the black/brown wire is for......

If you have a 3 pin plug leading from the instrument wiring harness, or are using a standard white OMC control box that has the same type 3 pin plug just below the ignition switch..... then yes, that is the connector that you would plug he tachometer plug into if the tachometer does indeed incorporate that type plug.

The color wires at the instrument harness of control box plug are: Black (ground) - Purple (12v when key is ON) - and Gray (sensor).

The trim gauge wire colors are:

White w/Tan stripe (Sender)

Black w/Tan stripe (Ground)

Purple (12 source when key is ON)

Thanks Joe, that helps a bit. The plug I was talking about is the one below the ignition switch, right now there is only a red wire coming out of it. I believe that is the Ignition wire that was used for an old gauge.
