'71 evinrude 50hp saltwater conversion

the inner exhaust cover on this engine is made of aluminum. to the best of my knowledge, a new replacement is no longer available. i have been running it in saltwater for a few years. eventually corrosion will eat through it rendering the motor useless. a stainless steel replacement would be the utopian soultion. its still running fine. other than a marine graveyard replacement can anyone offer another fix?
can aluminum be plated? add a sacrificial anode?

Are you able to flush the motor after every use?

yes , always. knew of the issue as soon as i started reading manuals weeks after i got it. bombardier makes parts but not that one. hoping to have it plated before it rots. having one made would be expensive.

Probably the best thing is to try and find a spare and have it hard anodized to replace yours if it ever goes. Then again the original may last another 40 years if you are flushing it out. I had to replace an outer cover on mine, but I probably would have tried to fix it with Devcon if I could not find a replacement.

so it can be plated or something like that. ill have to scour the salvage yards to find a spare. thanks for the advice
