71 Rude 60 Im almost there!!!! Fuel Issues!!!!!!!

Ok ive been on here some to some great advice and alot of help from you guys. Now down to bizznes. My 71 60 Rude runs pretty good for the most part but i noticed the other day that after running at full throttle while bringing it down the motor serged and and seemed to have more power than at wot brought back up and ran the same as before and agian when comeing off wot the motor seemed to be better power then it quit at idol in the no wake area. Primer bulb was soft primed it back up and motor started right back up. any ideas on this one guys......????????

Sounds like you're pulling air somewhere between the tank and motor, causing the bulb to go soft and loss of fuel to the motor. Not sure on why it's better when lowering the throttle other than less suction from the fuel pump is causing less air to be introduced to the system - the leak might be getting worse as vacuum increases or you just might not be getting enough fuel to support WOT with the leak.

Somebody who actually knows something will post up, but that's my $.02.

no leaks found. i was told that the bulb should be elevated and not laying flat anyone have any input on this if so what end should be up??????
