It's a 231 buick inboard out boardRaise and lowering the outdrive is more dependent on the type of drive you have. What type of motor (make) is it?
I don't see neither trim or tilt switchif its a Buick motor, its an OMC
it would be the 225 cubic inch odd-fire Kaiser/Jeep V6 back in 1971 (the 231 didnt come around until Buick bought the V6 back from Kaiser Jeep in 1974)
there should be both a Tilt switch and a trim switch. the tilt operates just the leg and is used for trailering.
the trim operates the small hydraulic unit under the front of the motor which moves the whole motor/drive/leg assembly
The only empty hole on my Dash looks like a cigarette lighterThat's an electric shift Stringer. The remote (throttle) has a red lever to run up the RPM in neutral, and then the throttle controller. Tilt is a separate toggle switch somewhere. Do you have any unused "holes" in the dash? Maybe it was removed?
The tilt motor is way at the back of the engine, port / passenger side. Might check to see if the wires are in tact.
Trim was different on the Stringers. If you have a big jackscrew on the front engine mounts (with a motor on it), then you should have a toggle for the trim somewhere too. But some of the Stringers didn't have that option, so there'll just be the engine mounts.
