The part number for the starter that is supposed to go on this engine is 50-38890 and it is bad. Cannot be rebuilt. I can get a starter part number 50-72467 for nothing that works. I am told that it is for a 75hp. The length and overall measurements seem to be the same. Does anyone know if the guts are interchangeable before I have this guy ship it across country for 10.00. A new starter is over 200.00.
