New to the OB world...finally going to take a look at the condition of the free boat...I don't want to make any costly mistakes.

My throttle control box has the usual forward - neutral - reverse...it has a full choke button...trim switch and a Start - run lever.

Turned key while in neutral and lever set to RUN (no gas hooked up..just seeing if it turns - it did)...then I thought...hmmm was that lever suppose to be in Start position? So I try it and no turns...

What is the proper way to start this engine without damaging it? Do I need start position and is there something I need to know to "get it to work"?

-JustMrWill
