Everyone I'm at it again. I've got a 75-hp 4-cylinder serial # 0a994866 I'm thinking a 1986? But my problem is I can't get it to get fire on the two bottom cylinders? (switch box) maybe. It has a new stator in it. Thanks.

Re: 75-hp 4-cyl question

I had the same problem with an 850, the bare trigger wires shorted the switchbox (only had sparks on upper two plugs) replaced trigger and switchbox with new and then found a newer used cdi stator on ebay for $50.00. starts with a bump of the key now.:)

if your lucky you may and probably do just have one component bad. You can swap around wires for troubleshooting purposes per cdi instructions which i have found fairly accurate.

Thanks, I went on CDI and printed out the one (trouble shooting) that pertains to this motor. I'll give it a shot in the morning.I'll let everyone know how it works.

Wow just my luck, I tried the troubleshooting tips from cdi and pretty much determined it is the switch box? Put all my wiring back to where it needs to be and guess what now I've got nothing at all, no fire on any of the cylinders. Start looking for a 4-cyl switch box.
