75hp 2 stroke 4 cylinder few questions...

hi have an 84-86 75hp mercury 4 cylinder i just got. few questions.
the trigger wires were very corroded so i replaced the trigger. it now starts and idles nice on land and starts and idles low in the water. ran good in the water for about 5 mins then just dried on me. got it re started with the choke and it was very boggy and hesitant at first and then cleared out nice. a couple mins later went to take a turn and it died on me. got it re started and was very boggy again. finally got its power back and went to take another turn and died again. i was able to idle it back to shore. i pulled the carbs and they seem like they were rebuilt more recently than not. they seem clean and varnish free. i have a fuel pump rebuild on order. does this sound like fuel issue or could the stator cause this? the wires seem ok on the stator?

also my carbs are wm 14's. top is stamped 1 and bottom is stamped 3. only 2 carbs for this motor though... is this write or did someone change something along the line?

Test run with a " known to be good " tank and hose.

hi, the fuel tank, hose, and filter are all new right up to the outboard. with fresh 93 premixed at 50:1 and startron. runs good for a few minutes but randomly died on me going straight and then died on me taking corners.
