75hp mercury stalls

Hi. im looking at buying a 94 mercury 75hp tracker pro series outboard from someone. its a good deal either way i go if i buy it and it needs a tune up great or if i get it and the motor need some parts. anyways the guy said the motor runs but its loud and stalls out after a few mins. im not sure what could be wrong with it as i have not looked it yet. the motor itself looks great and has power trim and tilt its oil injected. and he only wants a few hundred for it sense he is not sure whats wrong with it. i know i can make my money back if i buy it and its bad cause i can part it out. anyways wondering what all i should look for when i go to buy the motor i know i should check compression and spark but thats about it. any advice would be great wanna get an idea what im getting into before i spend money. thanks

as long as it has good compression the other issue can be worked out but you would need to try it out for yourself and let us know exactly what its doing

ok so as long as i check the compression and all the cylinders are ok on psi the the cylinders should be good and there shouldn't be any engine damag like scored walls or anything like that ? thanks for the advice
