I just recently replaced a bad coil on my 76 Chrysler 609ha and now it seems like I may have blown the new one as well. I have spark going to the bottom coil but not to the top, replaced plugs and have a fully charged battery. Does anyone know if it's the coil or maybe the trigger for coil 1(the top coil and the one I've replaced). If it's the coil, can this be replaced with an aftermarket piece or does it have to be one from the original specs? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

We can not answer your question with so little information.
Have you done the troubleshoot as I suggested in the other thread you had?
Change coil with the one who is working, then you know if it is bad or not.

I apologize for being vague, I have checked the cd module per instructions given previously and I had currency at all points. I had the engine start briefly but then shredded the woodruff key. I replaced the key last night and now i don't have spark at the top coil. I ordered a set of new coils after testing both coils last night for spark on both plugs and got spark on both using the bottom coil. i didn't know if it was something more that I may be missing due to burning out the coil so quickly after barely getting the engine started. I didn't know if I could have killed another part without not knowing it.

Ok, have you wired the coils correct? Number one coil should be minus (negative) grounded and number two plus (positive) grounded.
You can measure (ohm) the coils. Primeside about 0,5-1,0 ohm, secondary about 500-600 ohm.
Swap coils, number one to number two and see if the problem moves. If it does the coil is bad.

So I replaced the coil and still no spark to the top spark plug. I tested both the CD module and Alternator/Stator and have power going to both. I have power going to the coil but its just not sparking so it won't start. I am really not a fan of this motor anymore and I feel like its something simple that I just can't see. When I turn the ignition it does everything its supposed to do except spark. Could there be a fuse that I am not seeing in the repair guide or maybe the circuit breaker? Anything else that I am missing? please help
