77 evinrude bogs down when throttle down

i have a 77 evinrude 70hp when i throttle at full speed it bogs down to about 10 mph i can't find what the problems is the fuel line from the tank to the motor is brand new and the fuel pumps is new its getting gas but no response

Daniel... The s/plugs should be Champion QL77JC4 plugs, gapped at .040. If compression and spark is okay, that problem is usually caused by fouled carburetors or a sticking timer base under the flywheel.

the spark plugs were gapped at 30 not 40

my exact problem disappeared when i did the waterpump assembly... I thought it was the fuel pump but ,i guess it was getting too hot maybe, anyhow it worked after i did that..for what it's worth my friend.. <br /><br />Fish On!!

I have a 76' 70 hp Johnny on a 1964 15'6" Chris Craft.. (glass)about 35-40 mph wot

the spark plug gap worked it was at 30 not 40 <br />thanks joe reeves its running great now
