If you have been keeping up with me and this thread...you know I can't sit idle on a day I could be working on the boat.....so.......

I need the bow eye to do the flip when the time comes...so put it in temporarily...

Might have jumped the gun, but I can't stand to sit still.....

This is two coats...second with wax..Hope it isn't too thick...I have no idea what 15-20 mils is in inches...guess I could use google to find out though :)

Edit: Come on 15 mils is .015 (15 thoudsands?) I know what that is....never knew it was that easy to convert...shees learn something new everyday!

I was thinking it might be 1 or 2 thousandths thin as well. So suit up & find the Admiral's mixer, we're burning daylight around here:eek::facepalm:

Eye looks good, esp for temporary! Another great day boat building at the Trooper boathouse!:)

Not much to report tonight..I got 3 of the 4 drain tubes installed...

Didn't see the need for a pic...seen one drain tube you've seen 'em all

Looking at the bilge area after getting the 2 coats of gel on it...I see that I really should have done some sanding before putting the gel coat on...but this is a pleasure/fishing craft....not an antique classic...so I think it will do....just mentioning it in case someone else gets in a hurry like I did...

Looks great! A tabbed in deck is a big marker on the accomplishment time line!

I'm sort of jealous, but at the same time it gives me hope that I might also one day walk in my boat without hearing fiberglass creak or having to worry about tripping over stringers and bulk-heads.

You are all downhill from here.

Thanks PMC! I know you will be having a deck before you know it...it just sort of sneaks up on you...or atleast mine did :)

A few outings or a season or so &

'Smooth pre-gelcoat bilge' What? Will be all that comes to mind in the 30min you're changing the oil, or the less then 1 min the doghouse is open to turn the battery switch pre-startup at the boat ramp.

Well that & the 0.0015 missing topsides of that bilge gelcoat:eek: If these items haunt your dreams at night, you are not taking the correct prescription volume of your favorite frosty adult libation:cool: Find another, open, consume & repeat as necessary.... While we're talking haunted dreams, Where ya putting the battery(s)?:) Oh, and the iBoat's nation never sleeps & we are watching you & your progress!:p For now you're good..

OK JB, I get it....putting too much thought into it....:)

Batteries...they were in the rear port corner...thinking they will go back there....and that reminds me...the trim pump was on the opposite side...it was leaking...I need to look at that...

See..you done went and gave me a project or two for the weekend...thanks buddy...no, really thanks...I needed something to do...was going to go crazy without any resin and not having anything to do :)

Don't I know it!

I'll probably be getting greasy, so better stay away from the new white bilge...don't want it getting dirty :)

Troop are you going through resin withdrawls ? Hey I know the feeling I have been nit pickin my boat all spring and up to this point seeing how the Army corp has drained my lake to help the Ohio river again! (tributary control basin). If I had more funds I would be re-carpeting the deck. By the way most trim pump leaks are from the seal around the pump on top of the resivoir. By the way that bilge looks good to me.

I will gladly send you my Merc OB trim pump, ram is frozen..... The 650 will need it eventually, but you can certainly take your time w/ it.....

I don't know, Troop...a bilge that you will not be able to polish and see yourself in...pretty poor attention to detail...:rolleyes::p...LOL:D

But, seriously...that is one awesome milestone! Getting the deck tabbed in...man, I can only dream about that for now...

Way to go!

Now don't go getting Jas Battery placement syndrome...

Keep up the incredible progress!

Re: '78 Ebko Lebaron - Therapy

Thanks GT...I was stoked to get it tabbed for sure...

Already thinking about the flip...and the fairing/sanding....I'm sure I will have a thousand questions for you when that time comes..

For instance...DA orbital or straightline or just one of those soft rubber boards? I have never sanded a large surface like this before....then there is....just scuff the gel coat or take it all the way down? I plan on painting....doubt I could do a decent job gel coating outside...you get the point...no need to answer these questions...I may forget the answers by the time I get her flipped

Tabbing complete!
DSC01234.jpg

SP - No fireworks near the boat, the acetone, the resin......period :)

Hey Trooper, read the entire thread , your doo great and looks like the work on the inside is getting close to being close to being interior time.
I did have one question, i noticed the you fillet'd the back deck with PB, but did'nt see any on the mid or front, just the tabbing. Is that correct?

Keep up the good work i'm learning all i can , i've got a rebuild in my future a deck boat like Decker83 has .
