78' monark 15' aluminum boat

Can anyone tell me if this boat uses a standard 1" plug? I've tried to plug in a 1" plug but it just wouldn't fit. The 3/4" "livewell plug" was way too small. Are there such things as 7/8" plugs or do i need to drill the hole out bigger? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Are you using an adjustable plug? The cheap ones like walmart sells? Well look at it and you will see if the nut is on too tight it will be expanded. Unscrew the nut (back it off a bit) and try the plug again.

There are basicall 2 types of transom plugs.... the rubber ones used on about every outboard transom and the screw in brass ones for most I/O applications.
