I have a 1979 evinrude 100hp model 100993. I have a cylinder, (number 2) that is not burning fuel. The compression check was between 125 and 135 on all 4 cylinders. I have rebuilt the carburators with the excetpion of replacing the core plugs. I replaced the power pack and both coils, plugs and wires for cylinders 2 and 4. I have compresson and spark on the #2 cylinder, and the plug has a little clean unburnt fuel on it, but not a whole lot, I also have gas running down that side of the motor also. I first noticed this once I got the motor when after testing the motor out on the river, after getting back home the plug was still pure white with a little unburnt gas on it. You can pull the plug wire off while the motor is idleing and it does not change the rpm obviously, but the spark will jump out of the boot and hit the plug at about 1/2 inch away. As of tonite my plan for tomorrow is to either check the one side of that carburator, and check the leaf plates in the intake manifold. With the fuel running down the side of the motor more toward the back of the motor it has me thinking that the fuel is leaving the carb and somehow not getting to the cylinder. Any ideas or sugguestions will be greatly appreciated!!! I know this is kind of long, but I wanted to make sure that I gave everyone all the information that I knew of since it was my first post. Thanks!
