do what ya want. i've still to see the tread that says 'i accomplished R&Ring a 250 to a 292 L6'. the 292 was mated to a mercruiser II drive. very unique and obsolete. never seen anyone here talking about their mercrusier II drive either. petty rare.
while i've not R&Red my 250 L6, i understand there to be two different versions out there. some have capabilities of mounting up the ft. mercrusier mount, some don't. best i understand, trucks are the best bet. the lack of mounting tab on the starboard side can be overcome by welding on a mount tab or i've also seen bolt on brackets home modified that work well.

I dont know if i did that right let me know if you can see them or not
I think i can make a bracket to come down from the head where you see that bolt
using the two spots on the head i am sure a good beefy bracket should do?

where is the link? or am i missing something?

post a pic of the right side of the engine, you may have picked up a 292.

here is a link to inliners post about brackets that you can purchase for installing a 292 in place of a 250 in a car. you may be able to buy and modify.

I pulled the exhaust and intake off quick and found a number under there that seems to suggest
its either a 230 or 250 looking on the net.
it says:
CANADA
3921968

Hoping its a 250 and not a 230
will have to measure the holes once i get the head off to be sure
I am guessing that i want to use the head from the mercruiser block as well as the distributor fuel pump.. etc.

Update>>
got to pulling the motor out of the boat and opened it up a little,
good news:
all the holes are in great shape would be easy to weld up the hole and
get it back up and running!
bad news:
#1 rod took out the cam! broke a chunk out of the middle of it. (anyone have a cam?)
#2 block is really cracked from freezing, i could weld that up to bit its a really long crack.

turns out the engine listed above is a 230 so i have to find another which i think i might have done.

so since the cam is broken how different is the cam in the marine to say the cam thats in
the motor that i have found that was freshly rebuilt and used in a stock car (racing) ??
