I'm think bad stat or none at all. I found bad stat in my 15 today, it just wasn't running right- would idle but would miss a bit after running it up from idle, put the thermo on it- 70F, all my other motors run @ 130+. The idle doesn't sound bad on your motor, it's coming off of idle where it messes up.

Everything in carb is clean. I've had all 3 jets out, and I could see daylight out of them.

Not thinking carb's much anymore, you know the bad from the good carbs, you've got enough practice with all those motors of yours

I will test again in the morning using #35 jet in intermediate, and #46 in idle. Bass ackwards from what I ran at lake today. I am using earmuffs and a large tote box full of water at the same time. I seen earlier water coming out exhaust ports in rear (and tell tale). When water comes out exhaust ports, thermostat is open correct?

Yes, that was the strange part on my motor. I had water out through the exhaust port instantly, i've owned other 74-76 evinrude's and it always took a minute or so for water to come out, not on this one, it was instant. Top of the t-stat actually broke off leaving it open all of the time.

That's strange on water flow. I'll check stat/temp tomorrow as well. Thank you for all your help. Nice to have others that understand, and know motors. I hope to figure this mystery out. I'll keep you posted on my findings tomorrow. Thanks again.

LOL. I didn't even realize who i've been chatting with all this time!!!! I feel like such a dummy. I seen KH7 video, and it sounded great. Now for time to fix my KH7. Need to fix fishing boat first.

I was able to fix (with tip from "bktheking"). Reed valve on upper carb was partially hung open. Took it apart, cleaned it, and reassembled it. Didn't flip reeds over. Idles like a champ now.
