I have an 82 50hp Mercury (s/n:06224664) that when I fired up for the first time this season sounded rough. I have confirmed that the bottom 2 cylinders (3 + 4) are getting no spark. I have verified that the plugs, wires, and coils are not the problem. I also verified that it was not a grounding issue to those 2 coils. Compression is excellent and consistent among the 4 cylinders.

At this point, I believe the problem is the switch box. Any thoughts? Is there a way to test the switch box first before replacing it?

i believe you can move the wires around to see if the problems moves to the other plugs. Not sure what wires lol, someone on here will chime in though im sure. I read about it here somewhere. Even just start reading some other posts.
