Got the service manual in and as near as I can tell I does not cover the 4 cyl 50hbp shift linkage. But with my limited brain function, a close but not quite 40 hp video and the manual covering other models I figured out how to get the two out and replace them. I'll keep old attached and looped up out of the way until it's time. Or may cut them off.

Got a kid of a customer of mine coming over to finish the foam out, 100 bucks well spent imo. He's 23, smart kid but a dumb... if you know what I mean. Good kid overal, curious, willing to learn and he likes my cooking so all good there. While he's doing that I'll be looping up the old wiring harneses.

Looking forward to hoses. I will be reinstating the live well, any best hoses to use? Same for bilge pumps I assume. What about fuel, same question of best. Obviously I want all underdeck to be worry free.

With all the rain haven't done anything on the boat last few days and since today was a perfectly beautiful day I had to play adult. I did get all the wiring harneses pulled back to the splashwell and coiled up so out of the way. Tomorrow will pull all the water hoses.

yeah spent a week in FL couch surfing and this whole spring get the house and pool and everything ready really eats into my time. Tornadoes and such slow me down as well. Oh, and been looking at a 75hp....

Tomorrow i'm playing hooky from work to get ready for an initial float test.

It's stupid they did now allow for drainage from the outer sections. About two thirds done clearing those out and cleaning up the rivets close the the floor supports. This is not fun

Getting too old for this sh....

Five or so years ago put up the pressure water without draining tank or shutting off fuel line so I know I didn't stable the fuel either. Today after a few questionable starting procedures that might be illegal in several states, got her going. Had to run at half choke for first two tanks (with seafoam). Now running fine. Made cleanup much easier but now the wife wants me to clean the driveway

No menards for me in tn. Be a 12 hour day for me to do that to closest one in ky. Going to call our local builders supply and see and there is an 84 lumber about 30 miles away I'll see if they can order in for me. Found a couple online but 200 plus for delivery.

I've seen pontoon decking but it also says CCA. Is CCA still a no go? Even tho I believe it rests on aluminum frame?

OK, kill my question on CCA.

Found coosa in Nashville just an hour away at 200 a sheet
MDO local 7 minutes away for 100 a sheet.

$300 difference but is the coosa worth it? It seems like a lifetime product versus 20 year so I'll be dead either way.

I'll paint either but save time with no old timers on the mdo.

On the budget, I should still come un on target but if coosa is significantly better I'd die on that hill with the wife if needed especially since i can logically deduct the etra motor cost of 450 cacuase that is not being used on this project and can sell the current to offset cost......

My opinion is coosa is crap. It won't rot, but it's super weak. Before glass, you can snap it with your hands easily. You need to glass both sides, and the glass is pretty much all the strength.

Some might say that the resin will penetrate and make it strong, but I've done that and it really doesn't get past the surface much.

We did this Caravelle with all coosa stringers, motor mounts, and floor. I told the guy doing it to ask about glassing the bottom of the floor. He didn't, just put the floor in and glassed the top. It flexed so much he had to go back and 2 mat and roving (I think) the entire thing.

Also, anywhere you plan to mount something, like seats, you'll want to add a plate underneath to hold the screws. Coosa has a very weak holding power, so the few layers of glass are doing all the work.
