hey does anyone know where i can find a lid or cap to the air intake on the carb i do not have one and i cant find one no where it has a place for one its just never been on there since i have had the motor but having problems with it getting to much air

Watch ebay, there are 2 there but they are for the 86+, the one guy posted it's for an 84 but it's not.

I just did a search for "evinrude 8 air" and 2 came up. They are for the newer style carb, I guess if you can't find one at a salvage yard swapping out the newer style carb may be a viable option.
