Hi, I have just got my 1st boat and i think i got a lemmon.
They guy said it all ran well but he changed out the motor and never hooked it up (i guess i should have been worried at this point) anyway to cut a long and sad story short it has a 115etlk (i think that is a 85?) on it and it wont start. I have the motor in neutral mixed 50-1 in case the oil pump did not work but i dont get a spark... well i get just one from each plug and then nothing. Motor turns fast and that very 1st moment i get a spark on any plug i pull ... but no more????
Also i taped the oil sensors up so it would think the tanks have oil in them but the buzzer at the 703 controlles never shuts off.. I get a green light at the dash.. could this have something to do with it? If i dont get this fixed my wife is so going to kick my ass for buying it and then spending all this time working on it.. Anyone got any suggestions...?

Oh and the tilt and trim only goes up.. motor runs when down is selected but no movement and it seems pretty darn solid...

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.. Dave

my trim wouldnt go down either it was low on fluid.
take the plug out on the right side and fill it up.
Transmition fluid will work . my oil injection is disconected at the large plug from the small tank under
the hood and I havent had a problem with it.

I havent seen a green light only and orange one that says my reserve tank is low prob somthing to do with the oil sensor but could be CDI as well

Im sure the guys on here can steer ya right

Ok im guessing bases on another post but the buzzer should not sound the all the time if i have a green light for oil right? I checked the kill switch in the controles and that seems fine does(black and white wires) anyone know the color of the wires when they make it to the motor and where i would find them to see if i have a break in them somewhere?
Thanks
Dave

well heres a quick way to check if its a problem with a switch or sensor. Cut the black wire that is going to the CDI this is the kill switch. Cut it at the CDI box This will tell you if is a switch or sensor just remember you wont be able to shut the motor off so prob pull
the plug wires. I would just check for fire and not start the engine so just leave the the plug wires off.

Just leave yourself some room to splice the wire back together after wards. Doing it this way will atleast tell you that your coils pickups and cdi are fine and that your motor works but you will still have to find the problem afterwards.
