Ok so I was smelling more than normal gas coming from under the engine cover and I believe the black rubber hosing that carries the gas to the carbs are leaking. I'm not too mechanically savoy but I think this us the issue. Can I just replace the hosing and use hose clamps vs zip ties that are on there now? And do I have to turn gas off or unhook anything before I try this?
My power trim was slowly dropping so I read if I add more fluid to the reservoir and lower and raise the engine a few times it would fix the issue. So I filled it as much as I could before it started over flowing out of the fill hole. I held my finger against it and quickly replaced the screw then raised and lowered about 10 times. It has slowed up but is now making a "clicking or thumping" noise as it slowly drops. It takes about 30 min for it to come all the way down out of water. My concern is as the manual said "do not over fill the reservoir " as it will leak into the motor and cause it to fail. So should I just open the fill screw and let it drain out to the correct level and leave it be? Thanks guys
