Hey guys- been reading the other posts, you all seem really knowledgeable.
I have an 1985 85hp Force 3 cylinder outboard. Only cylinder #1 is getting spark.
It has 2 CD ignition units and 3 coils. Each CD has 2 output wires. CD#1 Wire #1 fires cylinder 1, but when I hook it to coils 2 & 3, they spark good. So the coils are ok, right? Wire #2 on the first CD unit was hooked to Coil #2 but would not fire any coil. Neither output wire on CD unit #2 would spark any coil.
See illustration
So are both CD units bad or could it be a Stator that can't give enough to get past cylinder #1?
I appreciate any help you guys might have for me.
