85 hp piston rings

Hi everybody and happy new year
I start rebuild motor (1987 85 hp mercury force), piston rings not a square profile it is looks like these

I was not pay attention when take it of, where is facet should be, on first and second ring. Somebody knows how put it correct? No any info about rings in repair manual

I hope it is should be like these ?

They both go on with the chamfer (beveled edge) up so combustion pressure can get behind them and press them tighter to the cylinder wall. Like the bottom ring in the second photo.

sorry your post is a little confusing, are having any issue getting the rings back on the right way?

If so the chamfer should go up on both as Frank said above..

That's right, chamfer up on both rings.... under compression the chamfer forces ring out against cylinder wall for a better seal. Good Luck!
