85 hp start problem

Hello
Now i have problem with engine start. It is fire up only if i put gas in the cylinder (take spark plug out, put fuel from the bottle), after it is running good. If i turn it off, and start again, it starts. But after 30 minutes, i have to put gas in cylinder again. I change diaphragm, primer bulb, all fuel hoses, install fuel filter (between pump and carbs),cleaned carburettors. What for a problem now? What can be wrong? Any idea?

Do you use the choke and put the throttle in the neutral fast idle position?

Yes I try use the choke (turn engine 3 or 4 times), what is it "fast idle position"?

The choke is a mechanical device mounted on the carburetors. Normally, to engage it, you push in on the ignition key. With the ignition key in the on position (not fully turned to the right to start), push in on the ignition key, you should hear a clicking noise coming from the motor as you push in and release the key. This is the choke engaging and dis-engaging.

The neutral fast idle is engaged by pulling the throttle handle towards you, away from side of the boat. The throttle handle should move about a quarter of an inch towards the middle of the boat. This is neutral. Some controls have a button in the center of the handle to release it. Push the throttle forwards. This is fast idle.

Normal procedure is to pull the throttle towards the middle of the boat to put it into neutral, push the throttle forward, turn the ignition key on (towards the right, push in on the key (towards the front of the boat) and continue turning the key all the way to the right to engage the starter.

Crank for 5 or 6 seconds then release if it doesn't start. Shouldn't take 2 or 3 times to start the motor. Be careful not to engage the choke too long or it will flood the motor.

What brand control do you have on your boat?

I'm not aware of any of the standard brands that do not have the ability to go into neutral. It doesn't make sense. Kind of like a standard shift car that has no neutral. You have to have it.

What about the choke? When you push in on the key, do you hear a clicking noise coming from the motor?

Yes I have fast idle on neutral, i dont know these before. Thanks. Choke is working. I take out carburettors today and find stuck tube inside (from which gasoline in cylinders is sprayed). I have lowered it downwards and motor start. Now I should wait and try again, if it start, carbs was the problem.

Do not want start
I dont have air intake (cover on carburettors), it can be a problem?

The missing covers should not be a problem. I've found that in order to get my Force motor to start I have to use the following sequence. If I don't use this exact sequence, It's difficult to get it started.

1. Squeeze the primer bulb 4 or 5 times until it gets good and firm.

2. Put the throttle in neutral, and push it all the way forward.

3. Turn on the ignition key while engaging the choke. I only engage the choke for 3 or 4 seconds but continue to engage the starter. It only takes one or two times using this sequence for the motor to start. Once it starts, I quickly pull the throttle back to idle position.

Caution, if you hold the choke in too long, you will flood the engine with too much gas and it will be difficult to start.

I play little bit with carburettors mixture, now it works perfect. And I was hold the choke too long.
