I am hoping I just need a new gasket between the lower unit and the power head. I am seeing oil slowly dripping from the small holes and two of the six bolts that mount the lower unit to the power head. Has anyone else experienced this? If so. How was it solved please?

Is it oil or just unburned gas.Drain your lower unit.Check for water and metal shavings. If there is water then a pressure test is next.
Make sure you drain from the right spot or you will need profesional help.Get a manual.
Fill out the profile. They made the 85 in a lot of years.J

Sorry. I forgot to mention it is a 1980's model. It is my first boat ever. I just removed the vent screw and fill screw. Attempted to put oil in and clean oil came flying out the vent hole. Dont know if that tells us anything. Also, thank you to the above poster. I will look into a manual and checking it out.

I think youre supposed to fill it with gear oil using the drain hole on the bottom of the lower unit until you see oil come out of the vent screw. Careful there might be a screw under the 2 screws...dont touch it...it's for the shifting assembly. If you do you might have a big job ahead of you OR you'll be payin some cash to get it fixed.

It's drained from the bottom and filled from the fill hole next to the vent hole.J
