The engine turns over however it isn't getting any fire.. What could be the problem? Also is there a motor that would be compatible to a force motor that would hook up to the existing wiring?
no fire at all is usually the stator or something grounding out the ignition - does you boat have a safety lanyard that might be out ?
that engine is easy to diagnose - go to outboardignition.com to find PDF docs on how to troublehoot it. Pick Force, then the year, then look under stator or power packs.
Compatible motors?? Only the Force or Chrysler will be a direct replace.
After mid 90's the Force needs Mercury controls.
Look under the flywheel and see if the magnet is still in place?
Go to outboard ignition or CDI ignition and check the trouble shooting section.
