Not really? You sure the fuel pumps not leaking into the middle cylinder.
A new diaphram can rip or get a hole in one backfire or a stutter.
No water in the cylinder?
One motor I worked on did the same thing.
Comp good, spark good.Looked and looked.
Cleaned the carb 3 times and it finnaly started running right after the third time.
A piece of dirt the size of a freckle can clog the jet.

well, ive done what i can do. in 49 years ive never taken anything to a mechanic, this one kicked my butt. just cant figure it out. I appreciate everybodys input and and advice but im throwin in the towel, towin to the shop with my tail between my legs. lol.

hey every body. after pulling my hair out of my head for a month on this thing I finally got it. It was a bad stator. Checking the resistance on the two sets of yellow and blue wires they read 630 and 750. Supposed to be between 680 and 800. after it was removed it read 0 [ so open circuit ] and 750. don't know why it read differently after it was removed but put a new one in and fired right up. Thanks for all your help.

BTW,outboardelectronics .com is a good site, they have a good troubleshooting guide attached to every part listed, schematics, resistance numbers, voltage readings, etc.
Got more info there than I did out of the 30 dollar force manual I bought.
