Alright, I'm back again. I've got a new battery, new plugs gapped to 0.30, new lower unit oil, reconnected some of my fuel hoses cause they looked old plus I was bored and I figured it couldn't hurt. 2 days ago without this new stuff it started right up with the fast idle lever up, I put it down and it died. did this a couple of times, eventually it didn't start at all. Now I have all this new stuff on it and it still wont start. Did a compression test top cylinder had 100lbs. middle= 110 lbs and bottom had 115 lbs. The bottom cylinder had some kinda white colored or maybe it was foamy fluid in there which smelled like fuel to me. Any Ideas on how to get this thing running, I'm patiently awaiting a manual. Once I have that I plan on replacing fuel filter, and possibly water pump. and also cleaning or rebuilding my carbs. but any info would help

That white foamy stuff in the bottom cylinder sounds like water to me. That would probably come from a leaky exhaust cover gasket.

Howdy, Ranger.

Back?? From Where?? Do you have another thread working on this engine?

Replacing or rebuilding parts at random is the most expensive and least effective way to troubleshoot a problem.

Go to FAQ and read the article on "Outboard Wont Start". Tbat will tell you in what system your trouble is.

Then come tell us what you have found. Along with your manual, we can get her humming.

Good luck. :)
